We took a plane from Quebec City to Newark Airport and a cab to our hotel The Manhattan in Time Square
You can get a shuttle bus from the airport to the city for around $17 american dollars or a Taxi will cost you over $100 dollars. You go to the Supershuttle desk and they will let you know a time that the shuttle bus will arrive, they run regularly so the wait is not long and on return to the airport you can arrange for the Supershuttle to collect you from your hotel
The Manhattan Hotel is Luxuirious and the service is A1
As in Canada and Quebec the workers depend on tips to supplement their wages and while it is advised that you tip 10 to 15 percent on top of the cost it is at your descretion considering what level and amount of service has been given.
The Manhattan is located on time square and around the corner from Broadway. Bus services and Subway are a short walk.
It is great just to go walking in time square and take in the sights at night - the billboards are huge and amazing!
We spent a day shopping in SoHo so caught the subway down and back for just $2.50 each
Went to Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre
Took 2 tours of New York and a Ferry Ride to see 'the lady' The Statue of Liberty.
Tour 1 was all south side of the city and tour 2 north side taking in Central Park and Harlem
It was great to have a quick glimpse of New York but I would advise anyone that plans to do the trip to allow at least 1 week and you probably will still be leaving with things that you would have liked to do
