Germany - The Black Forest

We have travelled from Brugge in Belgium to Hausach in Germany by rail.
Our first change of trains was at Brussels Midi station and then we travelled through Luxemburg for another change of trains at Strasbourg in France, last train change was in Offenburg in Germany where we finally took the train to Hausach.
Our exchange family met us at the station and helped us settle in.  We are based in Hausach in the Black Forest and travel out from there to take a look around.  You will see by the photos (which of course never do justice to the real scenery) how beautiful this country is.
I also want to give special mention to the people we have met, they are so welcoming and even though we speak only English they are welcoming and helpful and some of the people here in this small village speak English, especially the young people as they are taught English in school.  We have been lucky enough to be invited to the school here and have met 2 classes of students that learn English as their second language, we had a great time telling them about Australia (people, animals, lifestyle and different states of Australia and what it is like to live in Australia.  The students had prepared questions that they had put a lot of thought into and we hope we have taught them some interesting facts about Australia

The pilgrim walks have many plaques and statues
